Christmas Coal Candy

Ingredients

  1. 3 ounces white baking chocolate
  2. 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  3. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  4. ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  5. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  6. 2 tablespoons black food coloring
  7. Black or silver sprinkles or sanding sugar , optional

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 square baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Heat white chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, unsalted butter, fine sea salt and pure vanilla extract in a heavy bottom sauce pan.
  3. Stir constantly until mixture is smooth, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in black food coloring. You may need more or less depending on the brand.
  5. Pour into parchment lined dish and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle with black or silver embellishments, if desired. Allow to cool fully before covering and chilling for a minimum of 8 hours.
  7. Lift parchment out of the pan and cut into 1-inch squares.
